They don’t understand the art, the nature of men and women, and the primary audience. What I believe is missing in modern “models” is character and class. Hell, it seems these days like there’s a fifty-fifty chance that the girl next door is on the web displaying her prowess in orpheus stuffing. Nowadays it takes little for some little slut to get her knickers off and strike a grotesquely lascivious pose in a pathetic cry for attention…the internet is flooded with “amateur” images. The remarkable thing to me, as I consider the girls of yesteryear, is that there were so many that did it despite the negative social pressure against them back then. As I believe I’ve mentioned previously, I not only consider it an art, but I consider it one of the highest forms of art. By now you know that when I speak of “the art” I am talking about nude photography, and I truly do consider it a colaboration of artists…the photographer and the model. We’re currently working on “J”, and I have skipped many, many ladies in the process, limiting myself to those that really popped out to me personally as warranting a post early on.Īs I look over the large numbers of girls I’ve included or omitted, I can’t help but think of the vast numbers of women who took part in the art back then. After the first twenty, I started going in alphabetical order by first name. On only two occasions thus far have I posted a gal for a second time (the first being Teri Martine and the second Eve Eden). We’ve hit a minor milestone on the blog, one hundred different vintage lovelies posted. To Tumblr, for all you have done, from the bottom of my heart: In the meantime, I look forward to seeing many of you on the other side. Apparently I have group links for those I have created, which are as follows:Īgain, I really haven’t figured this platform out yet, and I would appreciate any guidance. My profile name, or whatever the hell you call it, is VG Shrine. I would be grateful to any who can provide tips in this area. I will be reconstructing the previous content posted here on Tumblr, as best as I am able to figure things out with groups and all that. For this blog I’ve made a secondary dedicated account, but the scheme there appears less obviously intuitive to me…a bit of a clusterfuck. I’ve had an account there for a couple years now, but never really used it much….certainly not long enough to figure out how the platform works. So, after that long diatribe, I have decided to take the recommendations of some of the content posters I have long followed, and I will be transitioning to MeWe. Yeah, I know…that sounds pathetically delusional. And believe it or not, I find hope…hope that some of what was may yet again be. In some small way, this is akin to my Church. But the fact is that it would be something of a loss for me. In truth, there are many other things to which I ought devote my time and effort. I had thought to just call it all a wash. I am thankful to those who have chosen to communicate with me in the past, particularly to the established figures who wished to know my intent for the Tumblr post-apocalypse. In return my silence has occasionally rewarded me in that I have found at least a handful of dedicated comrades in my primary purpose, the expression of affection and appreciation for that mentioned above.

I have remained largely silent, even when I found some commentary ridiculously naive, and often offensive to the sensibilities of a grounded and thinking adult. Along the way here, however, I have come to follow many users who prefer to season their similar content with political pontification. I use a different platform for that purpose, when I want to engage in soul-crushing reality.

I have made it a point to make my blog as relatively apolitical as I can manage, the above rant aside. Vintage Goddess Shrine has always perfectly described my intent here. It has been, quite honestly, pure escapism. It has been an occasional, and sometimes frequent respite…a place to go to shut out an increasingly insane world and find peace, comfort and happiness in adoration of what I consider to be better women from better times. It is evident that there is no need for me to continue here. I will waste little time here attacking Tumblr for its monumentally stupid decision, as that is being done elsewhere quite capably, except to say that the future here seems to be a home for the echo chambers of shitlibs, cat ladies (of all 73 genders), assorted misfits and, apparently, right-wing white supremacist neo-nazi fascists…although I have never seen any instance of the latter. Thus far this current platform has served its purpose well, aside of the incessant attacks with “recommended” trash it throws at me every time I log in. Given the decision of Tumblr to ban the content it is primarily known for, I will be joining other connoisseurs of fine nude photography elsewhere.
